It really is a random assortment of jobs.

I picked up a bunch of random jobs during my travels too before I joined my group.

Yeah. I joined a group that was on a quest of sorts. The country was in danger of being frozen in time so.. we were working on stopping it.

..The King was cursing all of Vaugarde to be frozen in time. It's been.. slow spreading, but it was reaching the town we were in as we went to face him.
