[ Come along Siffy. Not that I know what the hell Marcoh does in a day. He's dressed nice because this is Thursday. They can walk around a nice place that Siffrin likes? ]
Having done this a few times, it's easy to fall into their role and script. Which as the pink clouds do their business, it shows what looks to be a quaint little village, though with a few immediate unusual oddities with it. There's a few scattered people going about their business, the world seeming to be drenched in a heavy grayscale of grays, black and white. Various little orb-shaped statuettes standing in the center slight hill, even a few smaller ones closer to the ground doing a little dance. Fun! Much farther in the distance the sky looks to be a more clearer dark black shade spreading with stars gleaming despite the town looking to be in the middle of the day. Weird.
This looks completely normal as far as Siffrin looks around, before back to Marcoh. ] This is Dormont, it's a small village in the country of Vaugarde.
[ Points to the weird statues. ] That's Vaugarde's Change god.
[ It's all grayscale... Siffrin chuckles a little at that yeah they really are round but they gesture to the statues' faces. ]
Technically, as deity of Change, the Change God does not have a fixed appearance. Their clothes always stays the same but depictions of their face are always different.
[ Which the most largest one shows its face to be closed cat-like eyes and two dots for a nose. But if Marcoh peeks at the smaller ones, he'll notice they all have different faces. ]
[ Thinks about his own world's deities... some of them are a little different but most can agree they have a certain consistent vibe to them at least. ]
[ A nodding, not that Change god is their deity but that's how it is. He stares hard at some of the smaller ones before peering back up at the sky.
There's a few grayscale birds hopping around, going, "Piou piou." There's someone by the river, fishing? There's a sleepy looking woman in front of the houses kinda dazing, there's a kind-looking woman sitting outside what may be a library.
Oh, there's also someone just whole ass making laps around the statues, they're just ALWAYS running. ]
[ HELP. This person just keeps running and running but they will obviously see THEM NOT RUNNING AND JUST well, they obviously don't actually see Marcoh, these are NPC lines that will play on repeat if left alone,
so they just see Siffrin and say, "Oof, look at you! So scrawny! Scrawny one, did you know you can press [button] to run? You should give it a try sometime! Oh! And did you know you can turn ON "Always Run" in your Options menu? So you can run all the time? Did you know? Did you know about this? Did you know pressing [button] makes you run? Did you know you can run all the time by going into the Options menu? Do you run? DO YOU LIKE RUNNING?"
Siffrin just... smiles. ] I've been running a lot.
[ "I'm glad...! Running is very important. You can finish things faster. You can build up your endurance. You can avoid your problems. You can escape when a sadness runs after you."
Running can be good exercise, but you can never run fast enough to escape your troubles and sadness. That's why I picked up boxing, you can face your adversaries head on.
[ It takes them a moment, blinking, before they kind a just - laugh a little. Whoops, sorry. ]
..Oh, no, I mean I do get it? One of my allies... he uses fighting with his fists for his style, too. Works well with his Rock craft. But, um... Sadnesses are what we refer to as a kind of.. monster? We come across in our travels, and currently infesting the House.
[ Marcoh's words were such a well rounded advice given though.. cute. ]
[ I actually just copypasted that verbatim from his dialogue, he says that word for word in-game. It's hilarious how easily I can really just slide these in. ]
Mm, there's three primary ones. Rock, Paper and Scissors.
[ Holds up scissors sign. ] I'm Scissors Craft.
Each have their own perks and advantages in battle, but one does have an advantage over another depending on the Craft. [ The basics of rock paper scissors battling made easy... ] Everyone can learn it, too. You can learn others outside past your primary... and doesn't matter where you're from and age, it's kinda.. omnipresent everywhere? Everybody has a primary Craft they fall under.

Their go-to places are a train away... but they do think of something, which they will quietly pipe up as they walk. ]
..Do you want to see Vaugarde? Um, specifically it'd be Dormont, the village I was in before.. coming here.

[ Show him places... ]

They're round.
...
I thought "change" would look a bit more... chaotic, maybe.

It does help for exploring the House but the Sadnesses are pretty quick, too.

A monster?
[ The Sadness........... ]
no subject
Yeah. Sadnesses are.. physical manifestations of intense negative emotions. They mostly embody grief and sadness, hence the name.
[ Remember the lil fellas during end of cyoa.... yeah... ]

[ Marcoh just... deals with weird normal monsters I guess. ]
no subject
Technically, they've always been around... not everywhere though. But with the curse freezing people in time spreading across the country...
[ More are being birthed. ]

[ Basically? ]

Taking care of them in battle... even when beaten, they don't disappear for long, either.
no subject
[ You can beat them down but they don't ever quite disappear. That being said... ]
Still, being able to punch them away even for a little is better than none.
no subject
That's true. Unfortunately they do attack anything in sight, whether it be friend or foe. They're tricky depending on their Craft, too.
