Hmm... perhaps our interests align! I like reading books about traveling, and about interesting places around the world. I would never get to see such places, but it was fun to imagine.
I've been traveling for as long as I can remember. It's only a couple of months ago that I started to travel with a group though. I was alone before that.
[ Tilts their head at the mention of humans but. ]
It has become recently dangerous as of the past few months, so I can understand a bit of the danger with monsters. Sorry to hear about everything else.
They are physical manifestations of intense negative emotions. Mostly embodying grief and sadness. They attack everything they see, and even when they're defeated.. they can reappear again.
I have. There aren't always a lot of them, but they have always been around. It's just.. gotten a lot more worse in the past few months because of the curse spreading in Vaugarde. More of them appear but we have the means to at least fight them off.
It's a.. special case, since no one knew it was even possible, but the King took up residence in one of the Houses and began to spread a curse that freezes everything and everyone in time.
...Nobody knows. Anyone that was in the House was frozen almost immediately and he locked it down to make it almost impossible to reach him. My companions and I were on our way to stop him before I was brought here.
There's a possibly we could.. some Sadnesses can freeze you in time, and especially coming from the King himself, but one of my companions was blessed to be immune to the curse. Not only that, she's got restoration craft that is capable of unfreezing us so long as she does it relatively quick.
She's a great help to us. It'll bother her that she won't be able to help people that have been frozen in time for too long but.. so long as we reach the King and stop him, the curse will at least undo itself and free everybody else.

There are monsters in the lands you visit, as well?

[ Which is probably said differently from the way she says human. ]
But we call them Sadnesses.

Though it does still sound very perilous...
[ "as long as she does it quick" is not the most reassuring... ]
